KK was born on 23rd August 1968 in Delhi. He graduated from Kirori Mal College with a degree in commerce and then worked as a marketing executive for six months. After that, he started his music career by singing advertisement jingles. Over his three-decade career, he recorded around 3,500 jingles. In 1999, KK released his debut solo album “Pal”. Notably, every song in it was a memorable hit.

The song “Tadap Tadap” from the movie “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” brought KK into the limelight. Other notable hits include “Dola re Dola” from Devdas (2002), “Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai” from Woh Lamhe (2006), “Aankhon Mein Teri” from Om Shanti Om (2007), “Khuda Jane” from Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), and “Tu Jo Mila” from Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). The Legend Bids Adieu
KK passed away on 31st May 2022, after performing a concert at a college festival in Kolkata. Doctors ascertained heart attack as the cause of death. He was 53 years old when he died. The music fraternity as well as his fans and followers mourned his tragic demise. In 2023, Gurudas Mahavidyalaya installed KK’s statue the college in Kolkata. It was the venue where he held his last concert.
