Who likes disease? Neither me, nor you, same goes with the public government of Jharkhand. Jharkhand, this year is all set to make its state disease free. If all situation remains in the hand, then it would be no way surprise to see the state condition of Zero malaria. Milestone is too big to achieve but government has tightened its pants, and no mistake would be accepted by the government.

On the auspicious event of World Malaria Day today ( April 25), the state malaria department of Jharkhand has float events ( rally and seminar) in the state capital Ranchi and the headquarters of 23 districts to spread awareness among people regarding diminishing malaria.
It is not first time when Government has taken the intiative, turning the pages of previous year records and comparing the statics of 2021 Dr BK Singh said that, the department was able to increase the 17% malaria testing ratio in 2022 and conducted spray in 3668 vulnerable villages covering 30.32 lakh villagers, to help villagers lead a safe life. Although along with the sprays, Insecticidal nets were also distributed among 1.36 crore people.

Still, the Government didn’t stop. In the preceding year of 2022, a special survey was conducted by the team under which the patients suffering from fever was tested to notice or record the immune response of the patients against the malaria. The survey included pretentious affected 1176 villages under approx. 170- 176 health sub-centres of 10-15 districts including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela, Palamu, Pakur, Latehar, Koderma, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Godda, Giridih, Gumla, Garhwa, and Dumka.
This year the medical team has become more aware about the project, they had implemented Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) for better monitoring of malaria cases at high massive scale and entomological survey is being carried out in the red zone noted by Dr Singh, state malaria officer.
As last year practice was successful, because one in 1000 population was affected mainly in two districts of Jharkhand i.e. West Singhbhum and Khunti districts. The testing facility will be now available at every small and big medical department.
As the population and pollution is rising on a large scale, so the initiative of the malaria team is been praised by everyone in the state, but the question arises, how far would this mission would work? , because according to the covid statistics, people in small town villages are still far afraid from testing or any other injection , vaccinated medicine.
But still the state is geared up for the mission is ready to cross every hurdle.
