Elijah Mitchell, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, sustained a similar injury to his left knee just two weeks after returning from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Mitchell left Sunday’s 13-0 win over the New Orleans Holy people in the second from last quarter with what the Niners accept is a hyper-extended MCL in his left knee.On Monday, he is scheduled for additional testing.The Niners ruled Mitchell out near the end of the quarter, despite his initial status as questionable to return.
The first knee injury, on Mitchell’s right knee, occurred during the Chicago Bears’ defeat in Week 1 and kept Mitchell out of action until the Los Angeles Chargers’ victory in Week 10.The Niners and Mitchell, on the other hand, are hopeful that, unlike last time, he won’t be out for as long.
